Title bump, business cards, "more ownership," and a comp number that rounds to my last comp number. Told it's a "transition year." Is this a standard stall tactic or do I start taking headhunter calls again?
"Transition year" is the corporate version of "the check is in the mail." Take the headhunter calls. A title with no comp is leverage, not a gift.
Get the new comp number in writing with a date attached. If they won't put it in writing, you have your answer.
The title bump makes you more marketable elsewhere. Use it. That's the only real raise here.
Buyouts, portfolios, and the LBO model that refuses to balance. Promote dreams and carry mythology welcome.
